Yùsui Studios remake denim: models and sizing

Yùsui Studios is a small denim studio in Nakameguro, Tokyo. It takes secondhand jeans, mostly American denim, and rebuilds them into new, wide silhouettes, made in small batches with Japanese craftspeople. Our Seattle pairs came from a wholesale order with the studio, in US waist sizes that are hard to get in Tokyo.

The models

  • MICHEL: wide straight leg with brick-pattern patchwork. The studio says the design takes the stone walls of Mont-Saint-Michel as its motif.
  • Sir Guccio: the most extreme wide silhouette.
  • DFB, WDB, Baker, Thick Roll-Up: wide, relaxed remake shapes.

Every pair is a little different

Because each pair starts from different secondhand denim, the wash and color won't match the photos exactly. The photos on our listings are the studio's own. If you want to see the exact pair before you buy, hit Ask a question and we'll send photos.

Picking your size

  • Our Seattle pairs are labeled by US waist: W32, W34, W36 and W38.
  • Not sure? Measure the waist of a pair of jeans you like, flat, side to side, and double it. Then ask us to measure the pair you're looking at.
